Register to take part in the Greenway Challenge

Minneapolis recently took over the number one position in Bicycling Magazines top 50 list, as the bike-friendliest city in the United States. The city has put significant effort and money into making Minneapolis a desirable city to bike in since the first bike lanes were painted on the streets in the 1970s. This year alone 40 more miles of bike lanes will be added to the city in the form of bike lanes painted on the streets, bike boulevards, and off street paths, according to the city website. There is no better way to give back to the city that provided us with great biking paths, then to participate in the Greenway Challenge.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 25th at 2:00 pm, starting at the Midtown Exchange on Lake Street. The entire 44 miles of biking will take place on the Greenway where there will be music, cheering, art, food, a costume contest and other entertainment. There will be prizes awarded to the three highest pledge-raisers; the best decorated bike, and best personal costume. The essential to budget travel is to plan in front. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new spots we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our minds. Arranging and expending our travel budget carefully is a main concern for most families. Lowering spending and expenses, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured success and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking behind protecting money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal funds is incredibly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, no matter whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel bill!. The money raised will help fund the Midtown Greenway Coalition who has many programs aimed to make biking safer, keep the paths clean, and making the space more beautiful through community gardens and public art. Register today and accept the Greenway Challenge.
