A new wine bar called Flights at Twist recently opened (August 20) in the former bar/lounge area of the Hanohano Room at the Sheraton Waikiki Resort.

Concept - Flights at Twist is a wine bar that is focused on wine education and experience through wine flights.
Located 30 stories above the sand and surf of Waikiki, Flights is accessed via a signature glass elevator. Upon entering the wine bar, guests are greeted with fabulous views of Diamond Head, awesome sunsets, and the twinkle of Waikikis city lights. Guests are presented with a choice of five charming airline boarding passes each featuring wine varietal combinations of three glasses including: Go Green (sustainable and organic wines), ABC Whites (anything but chardonnay), International Flight to Europe, ABC Reds (anything but cabernet), and Thunder from Down Under (big, bold and full-bodied). 
Each wine flight ranges from $11 - $17. A delicious tapas menu using locally grown produce created by Executive Chef Ryan Loo and excellent dessert selection are also available. The key to budget travel is to prepare in advance. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new spots we have never been before, the actuality of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our mind. Planning and spending our travel budget carefully is a concern for most families. Lowering spending and charges, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievement and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought behind saving money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal finances is really tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel charge!. Prices for the small plates range from $9 (for the island style chips) to $29 (for the alae red sea salt and rosemary grilled filet mignon) and all desserts are priced at $11.

The former Hanohano Room reopened in November 2008 as Twist at Hanohano after renovations and a menu concept change.
