Visiting Aquarium of Niagara (Photos)

Celebrating 45 years of underwater fun, Aquarium of Niagara in Niagara Falls New York is a modest, well arranged aquarium featuring California Sea Lions. 701 Whirlpool Street is the address and it is not far from hotels, restaurants and Niagara Falls.

Before entering the aquarium, guests are greeted by a small outdoor pool featuring several sea lions swimming and playing. The cold temperatures dont bother them! They splash and romp in the chilly water surrounded by a snowy habitat.

Inside, sea lion shows are scheduled throughout the day. The indoor tank that can be viewed from the first floor through glass or from the observation area on the second floor. Its hard to pull away from the sea lions child like playfulness as they ham it up for guests.

Throughout the aquarium there are tanks and habitats with all kinds of creatures. Penguins, sharks and even Sturgeon swim their days away in the many tanks of various shapes and sizes. Check out the accompanying slide show to see some of the exhibits visitors can enjoy.

The Aquarium of Niagara is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Admission for adults is $10.00, Seniors $8.00, Children (3-12) $6.00 and children under 3 are free.
