It was announced that the new name for the recently reopened restaurant at Volcano House is The Rim a name that everyone can easily relate to and is totally appropriate for the gorgeous new restaurant that overlooks the crater rim.
The stunning new restaurant opened on June 1 and offers customers excellent options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with panoramic views of steaming Halemaumau Crater and beyond. Diners will especially like the new menu which utilizes local farmers and growers for 95% of the restaurants protein, fruit and vegetable needs.
Insider Tip: Guests enjoying late afternoon and evening cocktails in Uncle Georges Lounge or dinner in The Rim restaurant could be in for a special treat as the sun sets, a fiery orange glow from the molten lava can often be seen rising above the crater rim.

FYI Historic Volcano House is Hawaiis oldest hotel, welcoming visitors since 1877. The hotel in use today was built in 1941 and expanded in 1961.
