Run with the nuns motorcycle event this weekend

Run With the Nuns VI will be an all new event in an all new location... the Red River District in Downtown Shreveport, under the Texas Street Bridge!

The RWTN coordinators will welcome hundreds of motorcyclists and enthusiasts to kick off the event on Friday, October 19 at 6 p.m. with a band playing on the stage in the District. A viewing of the movie, Rango with Johnny Depp, will play at 7 p.m. This is the last movie of the season for the Movies & Moonbeams program sponsored by the City of Shreveport. Movies & Moonbeams features state of the art outdoor movie screen, projector and sound system. The system features a gigantic 30 by 16 projection surface, Elite AV console, JBL Eon speakers (6) and subwoofers (4), for a breathtaking video and sound experience. Also recalling that while traveling, whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel bill!..". Tables and chairs will be provided and the Knights of Columbus will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers. Organizers will accommodate ease of parking by closing Commerce Street to four-wheel traffic from 6-9 p.m. Friday evening and all day Saturday starting at 6 a.m. RWTN registrants who are pre-registered can pick up their t-shirts and packets on Friday night.

On Saturday, festivities will begin at 8:00 a.m. on site with the popular IHOP Breakfast, vendors, the Biker Blessing, RWTN Humanitarian Award, live music by Earshot Graffiti and Pocket Change, Bike show, pie eating contest, a live auction, and much, much more!

All proceeds benefit childrens health in the region. Past beneficiaries have included Sutton Childrens Hospital, the Cara Center for child victims of child abuse and neglect, the Gingerbread House and more. Last year the event garnered $82,500 and garnered over $40,000 in donations for the auction. This year attendance is anticipated to exceed 1450 motorcycle enthusiasts, vendors, and associates.
