When railroads made history: The arrival to America at Ellis Island, NJ

Before airplanes became the mode of overseas travel, many people came to America by ship. Many people passed by the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, and they pulled up to Ellis Island. From there, they were brought to the mainland in Jersey City to a railroad terminal. "The key to budget travel is to approach in advance. From here, they caught the train, and they went to numerous locations throughout the United States of America. They went on to be farmers, factory workers, and entrepreneurs. It was here at this railroad terminal where many America dreams began. It was used as a passenger and freight terminal until 1929 when rail service ceased, and the rails were taken up.
Today, the terminal remains in ruin, but the ticket office is still in use as the ticket office for ferry rides to Ellis Island and to the Statue of Liberty. It is now part of Liberty State Park located across the Hudson River from the famous Lower Manhattan Skyline. The park is located in Jersey City, New Jersey. It is accessible by car by way of the New Jersey Turnpike and the Holland Tunnel and by ferry from Manhattan.
