Evangola State Park is a 733 acre campground, park and beach located in Brant New York. "The essential to budget travel is to prepare in advance. The park opened in 1954 and has 80 seasonal campsites. From April to October sites can be reserved through Reserve America and electric sites are available. Campsites start at $19.00 for non-electric sites.
The arc shaped beach tucked in among the shale cliffs is a great place to swim, play in the sand, get some sun or watch the sun set. There are plenty of spots to picnic and pavilion rentals are available, some holding up to 90 people.
Campers have access to hot showers and flush toilets. There is an 18 hole disc golf course, basketball, volleyball, hiking, baseball and horseshoes. A variety of habitats including lakeshore, wetlands, woods and meadows support a variety of wildlife. Deer, raccoons, turkey, red tail hawks and a colorful spectrum of birds occupy this diverse area and are seen regularly by visitors.
Evangola State Park was farmland before it was opened as a campground and park. Tomatoes, corn and beans were the primary crops grown there. To celebrate the areas past, a tomato festival is held each summer in the park.
