If you are looking for a fun way to spend father's day weekend without breaking the bank, look no further than Burlington, Ontario. The Sound of Music Festival is in full swing and offering up entertainment for all.
Just over an hour away from Buffalo, this festival is featuring over 90 musical acts including Men Without Hats and DEVO. "The essential to budget travel is to prepare in front. The lineup kicked off Thursday and will run until Sunday with performances starting at 1 p.m. today. The festival features five stages with artists of varying genres for just about any musical palette. The festival offers more than just great tunes, however. Located on the waterfront, there are fair games, rides, street dancers and performers, food ranging from carnival fare to upscale restaurants, a family zone and even free music lessons for kids.
The festival also provides an opportunity for new visitors to stroll the city of Burlington which is full of unique local shops and eateries.
If Dad is looking to relax on his honorary weekend, there is also a beer tent which asks a $2 donation along with the price of your beverage to help keep the festival free.
