Hidden within a beautiful residential neighborhood, a home over 166 years old resides in an antique world adjacent to modern society. Rancho Los Cerritos will be conducting complimentary historical tours from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, the 31st of October. Tours will begin every half hour. Guides will be dressed as characters from the past in order to help illustrate the lifestyles of former owners and workers.

Halloween is not only about candy and costumes, it is also about acknowledging spirits and ghosts. The ranch provides a historical addition to an otherwise spoof-of-a-day. Built sometime around 1840, the ranch has been declared as both a State and a National landmark. The property has excavated stones that date back to 5,000 B.C. It has seen various Native American tribes with evidence of their existence from 1200 A.D. The ranch has survived Spanish settlement, and the California gold rush. Even before approaching the actual house, dirt roads make a person feel as if they have traveled back in time.
