Lurking in the shadowed waters of Shoreline Village, a new generation of wreckage is awaiting the arrival of this seasons victims. Every October the Queen Mary of Long Beach creaks open its doors to an assortment of ghouls and goblins during its annual haunted ship carnal-val. Formerly known as Shipwreck, the haunted vessel extravaganza is now called Dark Harbor. This year there will be five gruesome mazes to get lost in; two onshore and three onboard. Be prepared for sporadic vampires, zombies, psychos, witches, and werewolves. The 70+ year old luxury liner really decks itself out from strobe lights, to spider webs, to massive amounts of fake blood bringing brutish chills to all who enter.
To kick off the Halloween season, general admission tickets are only $35 each. A fast fright pass is available for $55 permitting front-of-the-line privileges. However, many spook-seekers prefer to save that extra $20 for food and drinks after boarding the ship. Gates scrape open at 7:00pm. The ticket price includes a DJ mastering the ceremonies of a three-story Centrum, as well as the five startling mazes,.
Once a transatlantic passenger ship turned transporting troopship during World War II, the Queen Mary finally anchored herself off the coast of California in 1967. Since she has carried thousands of passengers throughout her many years, the ship is rumored to be severely haunted. It is the perfect location for a legitimate scare.
Halloween packages are offered to those who are too afraid to drive home after surviving the mazes. Booking a standard room on the actual holiday night costs approximately $160. The packages range from $180 and up. They include additions such as: Breakfast facing Long Beachs harbor at the Promenade Caf, A Behind-the-scenes tour, A World War II tour, A Ghost and Legends show, And even tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
