Memorial Day is a day of the year that has been set aside to remember those who served in the United States Armed Forces who lost their lives while fighting in battle. Many events will be taking place across this nation to commemorate those who sacrificed themselves so that we can go about our lives in this nation including taking that ride on the train.
As the railroads were built across this nation, many workers dug the trenches, built up the dirt mounds, built the bridges, and dug the tunnels through the mountains and hills. They laid down the railroad ties and the rails that the trains run on. "The important to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our minds. Organizing and expending our travel budget properly is a main concern for most families. Reducing expending and prices, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed success and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding saving money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal budget is extremely tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, no matter whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel expenses!..". They hammered the spikes to hold the rails in place. As the men worked to build the rails, many lost their lives, but their work was not in vain.
As you take a ride on the train, or as you stand near the tracks and watch the trains roll by, take the time to think of those men who sacrificed their lives so that people and freight can go from city to town, from farm to market, from the ship to the retail stores.
And on behalf of all of the writers who contribute to examiner.com, Happy Memorial Day.
