Many people don't believe that Charleston is a day-trip. However, this can be a simple trip that can enjoyable and cost effective.

Charleston is simple to get to, travel down I-77 and take I-26 East until there is no more road. The Meeting Street exit is the best exit to take. Don't park at the visitor's center, it isn't close to the historic district and is as expensive as other parking decks. "The key to budget travel is to approach in advance. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is always in the back of our heads. Planning and expending our travel budget wisely is a main concern for most families. Curbing expending and charges, while still taking pleasure in your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed achievements and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding protecting money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal finances is extremely tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, regardless of whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel costs!..". Continue until you have at least passed Sticky Fingers and then find a parking deck- most are $8 to $12 for the day.

Head to Market Street first, the outdoor market place that has been in use for hundreds of years. Even though it is currently being refurbished, the city of Charleston is only closing down a section at a time. The market is open during daylight hours but is easiest to traverse during the morning. For sale you will find items made of sweetgrass, jewelry, pictures of Charleston, and many other handmade items. Plan to be here for at least an hour.

Also on Market Street will be the carriage tours. These carriage tours are usually under $20 a person and can be great for a first time visitor. Guides give an overview of the history of the city and will provide anecdotes about the sites seen on the tour.

A great place to visit for lunch or dinner is Justine's on Meeting Street. This restaurant is a dedication to Southern cooking and no meal will go beyond $20. Plan to enjoy an array of vegetables and some of the best friend chicken around.

More than anything, Charleston is a walking city. Stay along the waterfront to keep from getting lost, and travel down to the battrey. Here is the view of Fort Sumter and where the city fired on the fort at the beginning of the Civil War. This is also the beginning of Rainbow Row, a row of the most beautiful homes in the Carolinas.

Charleston is a gorgeous city, full of history, good food, and great shopping. This is an ideal city for almost any traveler.
