If wine tasting and seafood nibbles sounds like a fantastic day out to you, then clear your calendar for February 3rd and 4th. The Oregon Convention Center celebrates some of Oregons best seafood and wines with tastings, demos, live music, sand sculptures, games, contests and more. Visit the 8th annual Portland Seafood and Wine Festival to learn more of what Portland has to offer.
Over 100 vendors gather to bring you tips on cooking, wine pairings and to answer all your questions. Tickets for adults are $12 (seniors are just $8) and if you bring your Fred Meyer card, you can get $2 off at the door! The first 300 people in the door each day will receive a commemorative wine glass, which is excuse enough to drink wine in the middle of the day! Wine tastings start at just $.50 and food samples at $1, which makes for a pretty affordable day out. Make sure you have some room in your carry-on (if youre visiting Portland) to bring home some goodies you might find while working your way around the 100,000 square feet of festival activities.
If you plan to drink a little too much, make sure to designate a driver to bring everyone home. "The essential to budget travel is to plan in advance.
