Nostalgic and always relevant, Chevrolet is the heart beat of America, but America's heart beat almost lost its thump. Luckily, it has recovered and is producing some of the highest sales in recent years. "The important to budget travel is to approach onward. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the actuality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our thoughts. Arranging and expending our travel budget properly is a main concern for most families. Minimizing expending and prices, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding saving money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal finances is really limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, no matter whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel charge!..". Chevrolet, a segment of the American brand GM, has existed since 1911. Though it has seen its bright years and not so bright ones, Americans have never lost its love for the darling of the Chevy family, the Corvette.

The corvette was born in 1953. It has undergone many facelifts but has only had 6 major body style changes since its inception. It inspired the concept for Michael Keatons Batmobile in 1989. Its popularity stays constant among muscle car enthusiasts. Yearly Corvette conventions are held just so these enthusiasts can get their Vette high.

If you love museums and family outings this weekend would be a great time to combine the two and take the short 1 hour and 13 minute drive from Nashville to Bowling Green, Kentucky, the home of the National Corvette Museum.

Take Interstate 65 North past Lebanon and Gallatin to exit 28. Before you know it you will be there. Once you turn at the first stop light you come to, enter either gates A or B, but brace yourself. You may just feel tingly as you pull into the parking lot receiving just a foretaste of what is to come. The signature black and white checkered crossed flags that greet you assure that you have reached the historic site.

Dont want to drive? Call a shuttle. The Nashville International Airport (BNA) offers various shuttle services that pick you up from your home and drop you off at your destination. 24 Clarksville Airport Shuttle will take you directly to Bowling Greens, KY for a reasonable fee. The time is set by you. They just require a few days lead time to prepare. http://www.myshuttlelimo.com/

Once you get to the National Corvette Museum there is a plethora of things to do and see. The gift shop is like no other. It is chalked full of all things Corvette. The highlighted T-shirt is the Catch some Zs shirt that sells for $16.95.

Of course you must tour the entire museum where there are wall to wall Corvettes from every era. The Sting Ray, the ZR One, race cars, concept cars, all in stunning colors, in mint condition. Thats not all. There are also accompanying information placards that describe how the Corvettes were made and how certain designs were inspired.

The museum cateres to Corvette owners. Besides the basic museum tour they offer an owner tour of the plant where Corvettes are built. It is a personal tour of the Corvette Assembly Plant. Unfortunately, this tour is quite exclusive and tickets dont come cheap. They are $400.00. However, for true Corvette enthusiasts this fee is a drop in the bucket. If you can splurge for the extra tour it promises to be well worth it. https://store.corvettemuseum.com/services/buyertour.asp

Not a Corvette owner yet? Sign up for the raffle and you could become one. All the more motivation to take the trip. The raffle is $250 and a different Corvette is won with each raffle. The latest winner got a 2013 60th anniversary Grand Sport. The upcoming raffle is offering a 2013 427 Convertible. The museum only sells 1,000 tickets.

So how does one get access to Americas Sports car without being an owner? Museum goers gain entrance for a nominal fee of $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 ages 6-16 and children under 6 get in free.

The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, Easter and New Years Day. But patrons can get their fix any other day unless otherwise noted.

A few more points to consider concerning the National Corvette Museum is that although it opens early at 8am it closes early as well at 5pm with the last ticket of the day being sold at 4:30pm. So it is advantageous to get there early to enjoy the full array of what the museum has to offer.

Callaway Corvettes is the featured exhibit, running til July 27. It is a informative exhibit discussing the 50th anniversary Z06. A list all the upcoming featured exhibits can be found here.

Not everyone loves cars and not everyone loves history, but whether you are a car lover or not you will enjoy family time exploring the museum of Americas Sports Car. The Corvette is more than just a car. It is an amazing part of Americas rich history. Check it out this weekend.
