OMG! Dinner & A Movie; The Miami way to catch an indie and some gourmet grub (Photos)

O Cinema is an independent, non-profit theater located in Miamis Wynwood Art District. This beatnik-style cinema is part of two growing local trends, film and food. OMG! Dinner & A Movie is the groovy fusion baby of a desire to showcase independent, foreign and art house films, which would otherwise not be available in Miami, while furthering the citys culinary prowess.

The more epicurean explorer can spring for $55 and take home an autographed book by the head chef along with the experience.

Both organizations have been working in tandem to provide a kaleidoscope of dishes, sometimes fashioned to coincide with the featured film. In a process as creative as the art itself, O Cinema sends several trailers to the chefs, who cherry pick the films in accordance to the menu. Striking a delicate balance between cinema and chow, all senses of the adventurer are taken into account when creating this monthly affair.

Locals will attest that theres just something right about watching The Queen of Versailles, a documentary of a former beauty queens arduous journey marrying into cheap money and reproducing the famed French palace in the terrains of Orlando, Florida, while eating beef brisket. The tragedy of her undone faux castle made more real by the salacious morsels of cornbread is a balance of hillbilly sophistication only a true virtuoso can create. This is but one testament to the tailor-made food flair you can expect from O Cinema and Mr. Schwartzs fine team of artists.
