The Belmont Shore Annual Christmas Parade

This year marks the 28th anniversary for the Belmont Shore Christmas parade. Presented by the Business Association of Belmont Shore, it is always a much-anticipated holiday tradition for the citizens of Long Beach.

The procession will include marching bands scrambled amongst several self-propelled floats that have been sponsored and decorated by local Long Beach businesses. "The key to budget travel is to approach in advance. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the truth of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our mind. Considering and consuming our travel budget properly is a concern for most families. Lowering consuming and costs, while still taking pleasure in your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed achievements and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought regarding saving money while vacationing is simple: Even if your personal finances is extremely small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, regardless of whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel bill!..". The theme for 2010 is Twinkle with the Stars.

The parade takes place on Second Street and begins at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th immediately following the Jingle Bell Jaunt marathon. The one and only Snoopy from the Peanuts Gang will lead the parade; while the big man himself, Santa Claus will follow behind for the finale. An estimated 50,000 people are expected to crowd the streets of Belmont Shore this Saturday.

Street closures will be at 4:00 p.m. and after that, finding parking will be like driving through an obstacle course. Many unique restaurants offer delicious dishes to dine on, its the perfect way to pass the time while waiting for festivities to start. Experienced parade-watchers will make sure to arrive early so that they can reserve their seats with folding chairs or blankets. Be sure not to leave any property until after 5:30 p.m. or it will be removed and taken to the Bayshore Library.
