Halloween is fun for kids and adults! Here are a few events taking place in and around town. Many of them are free!
Scream on the Green Its a free outdoor Halloween party for Houston at Discovery Green. Costume contests for adults, kids and even dogs! Live music, Living Statues, fortune tellers, face painting, Roller Skating car hop girls, Halloween treats and scary music. Live DJ and dancing will begin at 8:30. Pirate Dinner Cruise in Kemah This unique dinner cruise on Halloween features a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater with the ship overtaken by pirates. Enjoy a gourmet dinner buffet and a DJ for dancing on Saturday, October 30 from 5 p.m. 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $79 for adults and $39 for kids 3-12. Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo This kid-friendly Halloween event turns the zoo into a Halloween party. Kids pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to paint, go trunk-or-treating, participate in a costume parade, and visit the Lost Species Cemetery. Dates run October 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31. Admission is included with zoo ticket. FREE for zoo members.
Monsters vs. Aliens at Miller Outdoor Theater Enjoy this family-friendly monster tale atop the hill at Miller Outdoor Theater. There will also be a costume contest. Movie begins at 6:30 p.m. and the event ends at 9:30 p.m. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 100 Concert Drive in Hermann Park, 77030. FREE
Boo on the Boardwalk - Have a Spooktacular time at the Kemah Boardwalk! Get thrills and chills at the Dungeon of Doom Haunted House, and compete in pumpkin decorating and costume contests. Kids 12 and under will enjoy the Little Boo Fun House. Every Friday Sunday in October. $12 General admission. $4.00 discount coupon online.
Trick or Treat Trail and Movie in the Woods - Saturday October 30, 2010 - Get ready for some chills and trills as the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation Department prepares to host its first Trick or Treat Trail and Movie in the Woods. All the fun is happening this Saturday at Carl Barton, Jr. Park (2500 South Loop 336 East). Festivities kick off at 4:45 p.m. with a costume contest and the trail will open promptly at 5 p.m. After the trail closes at 7 p.m., stick around for Movie in the Woods featuring Its the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (Rated G) at 7:15 p.m. followed by Poltergeist (Rated PG-13) at 8 p.m. Concessions will be sold. Both events are FREE for everyone.
Thrill@theMill at 7 Acre Wood Saturday October 30, 2010- Thrill@The Mill is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Theres free park admission for all play areas, stage music and live performances, photo back-drops, and more. Purchase tickets for pony rides, barrel car train rides, hay rides, face-painting, special games, food/drinks, baked goods and more. 7 Acre Wood also has a pumpkin patch and fall activities. Plus Farmer John Deere has a new barrel car train rides, hayrides and pony rides going on every day!

Admission is $8 (save $1 with your gift of a canned food item maximum $3 for Interfaiths Food Pantry). Its from 8 to 10:30 p.m. This event is recommended for children ages nine and older. Parental discretion is advised.
