2011&#39;s top travel destinations

If this year you plan to travel then you've picked a great time to do so. While travel costs are starting to increase they are still rather inexpensive compared to 2006 and 2007 and many great bargain opportunities are still available. Here are some of the top travel destinations for this coming year. I'm certain that you'll find at least one of these terrific hotspots as a fantastic vacation destination.

For the family: There still remains only one place to go for the best in family oriented vacations. Disney World. Yes, you can go to the islands, you can go to Europe, you can head to Hawaii, but for plain old fashioned family fun it can only be Disney World. There is no other place a family can go and have fun every single waking minute. At Disney World there is no downtime and you may even have to take a few days off after returning home to rest up after your trip. Disney's ultimate resort still maintains it's edge for the real family vacation.

For nature lovers: A really hard choice here. An Amazon trek?, A Mayan excursion?, A trip to an island rainforest?, or mountain climbing in the Himalayas? All fantastic choices. The winner here is East Africa. Choose a safari through the national parks of Kenya or Tanzania. This is truly a once in a lifetime trip that will simply astound you. Plants and animals seen only there, and of course a culture as old as man himself.

For spa lovers: There are many great places to choose from for the ultimate spa experience. The US, Europe, South Africa, and Asia offer many great choices, but, if you are planning only one spa vacation this year, make Arizona your first choice. Mii amo Spa in Sedona may very well be the world's finest spa. The scenic views alone are well worth the trip and will bring you closer in tune with nature long before you even set foot in the spa itself. For golfers: Choose Myrtle Beach, SC for your golf vacation. Yes, there are other great spots to go such as Monterey, San Diego, Scotland, or the Dominican Republic. For food lovers: There are many cities to choose from that offer spectacular food. Paris and New York of course, but also Hong Kong, Rio, Lisbon, Barcelona, and several cities in Italy immediately come to mind. But there can only be one choice for the serious food lover. Las Vegas. Yes, that's right. No place else in the world offers the total package as Las Vegas does. And I'm not talking buffet here, those days are long past. There are just so many more fine dining restaurants available here than anyplace else and the quality of food is simply unbeatable. It is phenomenal when you see the number of world class and world renowned chefs that either reside in or have outposts in Las Vegas. Whether its classical French or Italian, traditional Indian or Morroccan, Mexican, Cuban, Greek, Irish, English, Russian, Ukrainian, Iranian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc, etc, etc, it's all here.

For snow lovers: Many choices to pick from here. Aspen, Vail, Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Banff, Jasper, Cortina, Kitzbuhel, Chamonix, and Kranjska Gora, but you can't go wrong with Sun Valley, Idaho. Sun Valley was the first ski resort to open in the US and still maintains its position of excellence among the many resorts not only in the US but in the world.

For sun lovers: So many places and so many choices. Hawaii, Riviera Maya, Caribbean islands, Mediterrean locales, and, of course, French Polynesia. The winner? Rio! Spend the day on the beach worshipping the sun and when it goes down enjoy all that Rio offers in nightlife and restaurants. You'll go for the sun but you'll return for the food and entertainment.
