Check out Midway, UT for your Next Summer Escape

If you are looking for a fun and inexpensive summer escape, you don't have to go too far. The drive to Midway is about a 40 minute commitment from Provo, but the destination is beautiful and well worth the trip. As soon as you reach the mouth of the canyon, the rest of the drive to Midway is nestled in the tree-covered Provo Canyon.

Not only will you enjoy the ride to Midway, but there are a number of fun activities to consider on the way to Midway. For example, you can stop at the Deer Creek Reservoir for some summer boating, jet skiing, or just to enjoy a swim in a crisp mountain environment. The Deer Creek Reservoir is also a great place for some early morning fishing.

On your way to Midway, consider stopping in Heber to eat. Heber is home to the famous Granny's Drive-in, and also Dairy Keen. If you are looking for a great hamburger, fries and a shake, one of these two restaurants are a great place to refuel your body.

Once you finally get to Midway, you will feel like you've entered the Swiss Alps, as the little community is patterned after a Swiss community, including the welcome signs, the environment and the surrounding architecture. The quaint town feels more like an escape to Europe than it does an escape to Utah.

Once in Midway, consider staying over night in the Homestead. The Homestead is a little resort, opened year-round to the public. Each of the rooms are designed with a different theme, so you can have a different experience each time you stay. Also, the Homestead is packed with fun entertainment.
