Ride to Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida seems like a long ride, but broken into two segments, it's really not that far, and is well worth the trek. It's 914 miles from Shreveport, which breaks down to 464 miles to Pensacola the first day and 450 miles the second day, not for the novice rider. When planning a trip, that means a minimum of four days on the road and one would want to spend at least four days at Walt Disney World, just enough to get a taste of each of the four parks. The world famous white sand beaches and emerald colored waters of Pensacola Beach is a treat in itself, and if time permits a stop to explore this gulf region beach area should be included in the itinerary. Alas, onward to the magical place.

At Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, there are four spectacular parks to enjoy, and that doesn't even include the two water parks and various other nearby attractions and amazing dining and shopping. You'll have an opportunity to visit the Magic Kingdom, the first and most famous park in Disney World with over 40 attractions and shows. My favorite are "It's a small world" and "Space Mountain" with a 52 foot plunge down the mountain. At Epcot Center you'll visit two worlds in one where you can find fun beyond the sea and far into the galaxy. You can experience adventure inside "Spaceship Earth" and blast off to Mars on "Mission: Space". At Disney's Hollywood Studios action takes center stage where you will step inside the world of movies, television, music and theater. My favorite is the plunge down "Twilight Zone Tower of Terror". In the Animal Kingdom you'll discover one adventure after another amid amazing creatures, real and fantastic. Taking a safari among elephants, lions and monkeys is just part of the fun. Be sure to take "Expedition Everest" where you'll scream through a high speed trek through the mysterious Himalayas.

My tips:

Parking is expensive ($14), and each motorcycle has to pay, but the good news is in all parks but one, riders will be parked at the front near the park entrance.
You can smoke in Disney Parks, but only in designated areas, and they are hard to find, as they are hidden and blend into the scenery. Just ask a park employee to make it a little easier.
The Disney "front of the line pass" is the best gig going. Decide which attractions you want to enjoy, and pick up a front of the line pass at the kiosk at the attraction. It will give you a two hour time frame in which to come back where you'll stand in a much shorter line. "The important to budget travel is to plan ahead. If you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World, March is a good month to choose, so you can combine the trip with a visit to the world famous Daytona Bike Week, which is less than 1 hour from Disney.
