New York City is often referred to as "the city that never sleeps". And for good reason, with so many attractions and things to do doesn't give the person time to relax. There's so much to see such as the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Broadway and Madison Square Garden to name just a few. However, the question most often asked is... where can I find an affordable place to stay?
Of course, the cost of living, especially rent fees, continue to skyrocket in New York City. If you know where to look, a lot of dining establishments provide cost-effective yet delicious meals, so foods no issue. Shopping on the other hand is not just about Macy's. New York City offers an abundant of shopping outlets; you just need a useful guide to help you out. When it comes to attractions, don't believe that everything comes with a price tag. There are many attractions and things to do that are free. But, that is another story. The main question to this article is where to stay?
Before I recommend a list of New York City hotels that might interest you, first, let me warn you that whats classified as affordable in New York City may not be affordable in your terminology. So, if you're limited on cash, it's best to check with hotels outside the city. You can use New York City's public transportation system to take you throughout the area for sight-seeing.

Four Seasons Hotel - Midtown
If you have children, then you should consider staying in this kid-friendly hotel. This is a five-star hotel and a little pricier than most. It is the tallest hotel in New York City providing its family guests with coloring books, child-sized bathrobes and baby toiletries, toys and board games, a video lending library and welcome gifts for kids. It features rooms with two double beds that sleep four. Connecting rooms or suites are also available.
Marriott New York Marquis - Theater District - Times Square
This hotel is located right in the heart of Times Square with great views, rooms with two double beds that sleep four, one bedroom suites with two double beds, sofa bed that sleeps six, connecting rooms are also available. Courtyard Midtown East - Grand Central - Lexington Ave.
Situated in the exclusive East Side neighborhood, this hotel features more than 300 spacious hotel rooms. Rooms come equipped with refrigerators, plus flat-screen televisions and free high-speed Internet. The large windows provide a gorgeous view of the city. Rooms come with two double beds or a king bed and sofa bed that sleeps four. A complimentary crib or rollaway bed is available upon request. Families have access to a coin-operated washer and dryer.
