Living on the West Coast has a lot of plusses; not the least of which is being within close proximity to Disneyland. You can drive there in a day or two, saving money on airfare, but if a road trip isnt something you have planned, thats okay, too, because you can find some great deals on airlines like JetBlue and Southwest. Lets talk about how to save big on your theme park adventure.

Buy tickets before you go You have no idea how much time and money you can save by purchasing your park passes ahead of your trip. AAA, credit unions, Costco and even Disneyland.com have better deals than what you will pay at the gates. If you are wanting to buy a package deal with tickets, hotel and airfare, look to BookIt.com for great deals. With a vacation purchase, they offer some of the most competitive park tickets anywhere.
Get park-hopper passes Dont buy single-day tickets. You will pay much more per day than if you get multi-day park hoppers, plus you can only enter one park at a time. Since California Adventure is right next to Disneyland, there may be days when you want to pop over from one to the other to catch a show or parade or even double back for the chance at riding some rides again (or that you missed). three-day or more passes offer you a better value and the chance to relax on your visit and not rush to get to everything in just a day or two. Even a veteran Disney-goer will tell you that slowing down for more days is better than a whirlwind trip where you pack so much into your time that you need another vacation from your vacation.
Bring snacks with you Dining costs within the parks can really add up, especially when you throw in daily snacks for everyone in your party. Make sure you load a day bag with bottled waters and healthy snacks before you head to the parks each day. Disney will gladly admit you with these things and you can skip the snack queues and much on things that are better for you than churros, popcorn and ice cream while you wait in line for your favorite rides. Save time AND money!
Stay off-property While the Disney hotels seem fantastical and right in the middle of the action, there are a bundle of hotels that are within walking distance of the gates. You wont be able to walk right into California adventure or never leave the magic by staying at them, but you will save hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars by staying off-property. Disney hotels often charge two to four times more than a regular hotel, just for the dcor and random other perks, like the Disney Dining Plan and Magic Morning. If you separate these perks out, you are paying way more than you need to, plus you are still going to need to buy some meals that arent included. "The key to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the truth of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our mind. Preparation and spending our travel budget properly is a concern for most families. Lowering expending and costs, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured accomplishment and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding economizing money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal finances is highly limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, no matter whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel expenses!..". Magic Mornings are included with park hopper passes of three or more days, too, for free. If youre looking to get more space, you can book a suite in a nearby hotel for less than the cost of a stay at the Disney name hotels.
Avoid parking whenever possible If you are only visiting Disney, then save your money and skip the rental car. An airport shuttle is much cheaper and less of a hassle both ways. You can take Anaheim Rapid Transit from your hotel to Disney each day for a small fee or, if youre close enough, walk. Unless you have a big travel party, parking fees are still more than taking ART and can be inconvenient with long lines and wasting time finding a parking space.

These are just some of the ways you can save on a trip to Disneyland. Make sure to follow me on my blog, Shereen Travels Cheap, or Facebook and Twitter for even more tips and travel deals.
