There is a little town in southwestern Minnesota known as Currie. "The essential to budget travel is to approach in advance. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our minds. Arranging and spending our travel budget correctly is a concern for most families. Lowering spending and fees, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured accomplishment and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking behind protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal finances is really limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, regardless of whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel expenses!..". On the north side of this town is a recreation of a Midwestern a small frontier railroad town that includes a church, schoolhouse, courthouse, and old fire station. There are a few locomotives, cabooses, and a turntable.
This is what you will find when you visit the End of the Line Railroad Museum and Park in Currie, Minnesota. The museum is located where a rail yard once stood of which the turntable was a part of and is in its original location. The train depot was once used by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. It was purchased for $1.00 and eventually relocated to the park. The museum also includes a model train display, a few motorcars, locomotives, a few restored buildings, walking paths, and a veterans memorial.
The End of the Line Railroad Park is located at 440 North Mill Street in Currie, Minnesota. It is about a half hour drive from Interstate 90 by way of U.S. 59 and Minnesota Route 30, but it is a good detour to take for the average railroad fan taking a road trip.
