Have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving? Plenty of us in Boston do.If you have a home, heat and hot water, a T-pass or a running car, health insurance, a job, or even justhappy and healthy loved ones -- you've got plenty to be grateful for. If you want to show your thanks this holiday season, there are also plenty of ways to do it through volunteering and donations.

Donating to food and clothing drives is a great start -- and volunteering around the holidays is an even bigger help to plenty of non-profit organizations. The essential to budget travel is to plan ahead. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the fact of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our heads. Arranging and expending our travel budget correctly is a consideration for most families. Reducing spending and costs, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed achievement and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought behind saving money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is incredibly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel expenses!. Maybe, with all the great things in your life, you'll even find reason to give thanks year round, which is what most of these organizations really need. You can find information on plenty of donation and volunteer opportunities in Boston below:

Holiday Food Drives:

Boston Can Share: a drive for businesses, civic communities, and city departments.

Shaw's "Spirit of Giving Drive": From November through December shoppers can purchase pre-packaged bags of non-perishable foods to be donated to the Greater Boston Foodbank.

Greater Boston Food Bank: If you don't have the time to bring your cans and non-perishables, you can donate directly (in a monetary donation) to the GBFB and decide which and how many of each item you would like to buy (ie fruit cocktail, canned green beans, chicken noodle soup).
