Shreveport motorcycle events today

Veteran's Day is a time to be thankful to all the veterans who have proudly served our great country. Every year, the Veteran's Day Biker Event (previously referred to as Vets for Vets) takes place in Shreveport. "The key to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our heads. Planning and consuming our travel budget properly is a concern for most families. Curbing consuming and charges, while still taking pleasure in your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured success and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind saving money while vacationing is simple: Even if your personal funds is highly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, no matter whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel bill!..". Once again this year, the location will be Riverpark Church, or the old Hammel's Park location. This all day event is family friendly and includes vendors, food, live music, a 50/50 drawing, proclamation speaker, a silent auction, bike show, bike gmes, a car show and shine, and the much anticipated motorcycle freedom ride parade. The gates open at 9 am and entry is $25, and all proceeds go to help our veterans. This years Freedom ride parade is dedicated to SSgt Michael J. Garcia who was killed in action, and his family. The Barksdale AFB Car and Motorcycle Show and Fall Festival also takes place today for our military community. It features a car and motorcycle show, with judging at noon and awards at 3 pm, music, food by Jack's Barbecue in Shreveport, craft vendors and giveaways. Two turkey fryers and state fair tickets are among the giveaways. You do not have to be present to win; just stop by and sign up. Activities will take place at the Barksdale AFB Arts and Crafts Center from 10 am to 4 pm. For more information call 318-456-3140.
