Although you may expect to be taken aback by the stupefying splendor of Istanbuls Hagia Sophia and its Blue Mosque, and you most certainly will be as they are nothing short of magnificent, but you may surprise yourself by becoming addicted to the citys indigenous sweet, lokum. Outside of Turkey lokum is called Turkish Delight. If you are unfamiliar with these delicious little squishy cubes you dont know what youre missing! The size of a Kraft caramel they can be purchased throughout the city, but the best lokum is available at the Spice Market, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar or Misir Carsisi which is located a short distance away from the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar. "The important to budget travel is to approach in advance. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the fact of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our thoughts. Arranging and expending our travel budget wisely is a concern for most families. Curbing spending and expenses, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding protecting money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal budget is incredibly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, no matter whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel bill!..". Lokum comes in all sorts of different favors but an absolute favorite is the cocoa/pistachio. Lightly dusted with a fine cocoa powder this subtle sweet taste of crunchy pistachios and delicate cocoa flavor is unlike anything you have ever tasted before, even if you consider yourself a connoisseur of American candy.

And when you return stateside you will try to feed your newfound addiction, but you may find yourself out of luck. Yes, in these days of shopping 24/7 on the web where the internet is considered the global Grand Bazaar you may think you have found your candy nirvana, your lokum online merely a click away, but instead you will find yourself horribly disappointed!! It is not the same thing, not at all. No, there is only one solution: You must return to Istanbul, the city that captivates with its warm and charming people, sea of the deepest Windex blue, the imams call to prayer which no matter how often you hear it never fails to enthrall and its lokum.
