Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United States who presided over a divided nation from 1861 to 1865. He was the first president to have been assassinated which took place in 1865 while attending a play at the Fords Theater. However, this was not the first assassination attempt on Abraham Lincolns life.
On this day, February 23, 1861, Abraham Lincoln was newly elected as the President of the United States. After saying farewell to his friends and family in Illinois, he boarded a train that would make various stops on his way to Washington. Word came to him about an assassination attempt on his life as he was to pass through Baltimore. "The important to budget travel is to prepare ahead. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the truth of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our minds. Planning and spending our travel budget carefully is a consideration for most families. Curbing consuming and charges, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought behind protecting money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal finances is really tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, no matter whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel costs!..". It was not believed at first, but Lincolns advisors wanted to take all precautions.
The assassination attempt was a complete failure. As Abraham Lincoln was making his way through Baltimore, he disguised himself, and he boarded different trains. The assassins never saw him pass through the city, and he made it safely to Washington where he would arrive at the Williard Hotel.
Because of the railroad, an assassination attempt on Abraham Lincolns life was foiled, and he was able to serve out his first term in office presiding over the entire duration of the Civil War.
