There had been a lull in the action lately; charity rides are half of what they used to be in terms of choices but this weekend, you will have plenty of rides to choose from.
Beginning on Saturday, in Rochelle Park, its the 2nd Annual MC Run for FOWA's Homeless Paws, Sponsored by Bergen County Harley-Davidson-BMW The run starts at Bergen County Harley-Davidson-BMW, 124 Essex Street in Rochelle Park. Registration is from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the motorcycles go out at 10:30 am. The ride ends with a barbeque, free to all riders and passengers, DJ, 50/50 drawing and animals for adoption.
Out of Atco, the Berlin Lions and ABATE 2012 Car & Bike Show Sponsored by Berlin Lions, and Garden State ABATE, SouthWest Chapter, the bike show will be held at, 350 Vineyard Rd. in Atco. Registration is from 8:00 am to 11:30 am and the gates open at 12:00 pm. The pre-registration fee is $10.00. The fee on the day of the event is $15.00. Dash plaques, trophies will be awarded. There will also be door prizes and food.
Westfield will host the Helmets and Heroes, Motorcycle and Car Show. The bike show will be held at Westfield Armory, 550 Rahway Ave. in Westfield. Set up of motorcycles will take place beginning at 8:00 am with registration from10:00 am to 12:00 pm. There will also be vendors. The money raised will benefit the Friends of Firefighters, The Atlantic Regional Firefighters Burn Foundation, and the Westfield Family Readiness Group.
In Franklin (northern NJ), its the PBA 378's Sussex County Poker Run, sponsored by PBA The poker run starts at Fireman's Memorial Park in Franklin,. Registration is from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The fee is $25.00 for the rider and $10.00 for a passenger. There will also be music, games, food, and more. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best and worst poker hand. The motorcycle run is a benefit for the brothers and sisters of the better brotherhood of PBA Local 378 in order to continue our community and charity based support and events.
Sunday, September 16 gives a few more rides. From Lakewood, we have the 4th Annual Biker's 4 Animals Poker Run. The poker run starts at Harley Davidson/Buell of Ocean County, 300 Route 70 in Lakewood. Registration is from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. There will also be a 50/50 drawing, music and lunch. The first 150 riders will get a ride pin.
In Hope, its the Ride to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer, sponsored by Dangerous Curvz The ride meets at Tramontin Harley-Davidson in Hope. Registration begins at 9:30 am and the motorcycles go out at 11:00 am. "The important to budget travel is to plan onward. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the actuality of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our mind. Preparation and spending our travel budget correctly is a consideration for most families. Lowering consuming and fees, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured achievements and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking behind protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, regardless of whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel costs!..". The fee is $20.00 for the rider and $15.00 for a passenger. This is a 60+ mile group ride through scenic Warren and Sussex Counties. The net proceeds will benefit The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Northern NJ Chapter.
Sewell will host the Ride to Remember, sponsored by Gloucester County Hero Scholarship Fund, Inc. The 63 mile police escorted ride starts at, 455 Hurffville-Crosskeys Rd. in Sewell. The ride begins at 10:00 am.
