Sticking to ones first idea on vacation plans is becoming a thing of the past according to the results of the 2012 Summer Traveler Intentions Survey fielded by leading inspirational travel website Travel-Ticker.com.
The poll, conducted in May 2012, asked the opinions of more than 2,000 U.S. consumers about their summer leisure travel intentions, and unearthed some surprising findings about Americans willingness to be flexible when it comes to booking travel.
The results indicated that most people are easily be swayed to change their plans if presented with a deal that will save them money. Our annual survey has surfaced a growing trend of consumers willing to get up and go when a great deal strikes, said L. Jasmine Kim, general manager of Travel-Ticker.com. That kind of flexibility can save a tremendous amount of money by allowing travelers to act on short-lead purchase bargains or to consider alternative destinations that deliver similar experiences at a fraction of the cost.
About 72 percent of the surveys respondents said they plan to be more flexible this summer when choosing vacation destinations and dates if it means they will save money. An additional 75 percent said that they are often inspired by travel deals and have a desire to book a great deal before it disappears. "The important to budget travel is to plan ahead. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new spots we have never been before, the fact of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our minds. Considering and expending our travel budget carefully is a priority for most families. Reducing expending and expenses, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed achievements and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind economizing money while journeying is simple: Even if your personal finances is really small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, regardless of whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel charge!..". And another 79 percent of respondents feel they could save money by booking travel on a whim.
