Celebrate national smile month at West Family Dental

National Smile Month is a campaign that promotes 30 days of oral hygiene (from May 1-May 30). The purpose of National Smile Month is to improve oral health by focusing on practices that will help increase oral hygiene. These practices include:

brushing your teeth 2 times per day
using fluoride toothpaste
flossing daily
limiting sugary foods and drinks
visiting your dentist
using mouthwash
chewing sugar-free gum, and
cleaning your dentures 2 times a day (if you wear dentures)

The National Smile Month campaign started in the UK, but dentists across the world are encouraging their patients to participate to help promote health.

In Utah, Daniel W. West, DMD, is backing the campaign by holding a special contest with grand prize of $4000 worth of free dental procedure(s) for the winners friend, family member, or themselves, and a $250 gift card.

To enter, all you have to do is visit the Best Smile in Utah Facebook contest page, upload a picture of your best smile and give your smile a fun tag name.

You can submit your photo up until May 22nd. After May 22nd, the best smiles are up for public vote, and judges will announce the winners on May 31st. "The key to budget travel is to approach onward.
