It is the day before Christmas. You arrive at the train station. You go by the ticket counter, and you make your way to the platform. You have your luggage in hand full of gifts that you are going to give away. As you stand on the platform, you look both ways hoping to see a freight train pass by, but you see you train arriving instead. The train pulls up to the platform and stops. "The important to budget travel is to prepare in advance. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the actuality of expense and budgeting is generally in the back of our mind. Considering and expending our travel budget carefully is a concern for most families. The conductors step off of the train. Everyone lines up to get on board. You finally get to the conductor, and you hand him your ticket. He takes your ticket, and he says, Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
You walk up the steps, and you go into the car making your way to your seat. When you arrive at your seat, you put your luggage in the luggage rack, and you take a seat. You have a window seat which allows you to look out the window. You watch as the train begins to pull away from the station. As the train is rolling down the tracks, you enjoy the view of the outside scenery. This is what a railroad enthusiast enjoys the most about railroading, but another great thing is that you are going home for Christmas, and you are going home on a train.
