With summer slowly coming to a close, parents are on the look out for more affordable outings for their family. "The key to budget travel is to plan onward. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved vacations and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the fact of expense and budgeting is often in the back of our mind. Arranging and spending our travel budget properly is a consideration for most families. Minimizing spending and prices, while still savoring your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain success and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding economizing money while vacationing is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, no matter whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel costs!..". The economy in Silicon valley is taxing and more people are hitting the road for summer travel, while some are staying close to home for vacation.
To stay within a reasonable budget and still get the most of summer, looking in your own backyard for summer fun might the best ticket. A while back I ran across a facility in Santa Clara, CA called, "Sky High Jump". At first glance, it looked like a blown up jumpy house with tons of kids running around with no shoes. After looking more closely, I found it to be a safe haven for tired parents that want their kids get out their pent-up energy.
Upon arrival, you are asked to sign a waiver, both you and your child (bring ID). Once you have paid the fees to get in each kid gets a colored wrist band to get in.
The facility is divided in sections for easy access:
- Big Jump Area
- Foam pit
- Dodge Ball
- Party Section
Big Jump Area:
The big Jump area is large in width and most times the older kids tend to stick close to the back area to avoid landing on the smaller kids. Parents are still cautioned to watch smaller kids.
Foam Pit:
This section is filled with tons of foam the size of small boxes that kids can run and jump in. The landing is very soft, but with any jump area, parents should still watch their kids.
Dodge Ball:
This area, I found older teens to hang out; especially boys. I don't recommend having kids younger than 10 in this area unless your kid has played this sport before. View the ages of kids joining in each tournament before letting your child in.
Party Section:
This section close to the entrance is located across from the Big Jump Area and mostly set up for birthday parties. You can set up a party before hand and they will have food and drinks all set up for you. No outside food or drinks are allowed. I would call if you want to bring a birthday cake.
All sections are monitored by employees for safety and to make sure you get the full hour you paid for and to remove those who's hour is up (hint: colored wrist bands). No shoes are allowed on any jumping mats as this helps keep kids light on their feet. Caution: Have your child remove their socks to avoid slips and falls.
The best part about this place is that they are open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and the later hours seem to be more reserved for teenagers. Once they join in the fun, all you have to do is sit back and let your kids tire themselves out. This place is so fun and the kids never stop jumping.
