Celebrating a local eco-travel hero

It began over 30 years ago with a winter camping group trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. The important to budget travel is to prepare onward. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the fact of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our thoughts. Preparation and consuming our travel budget properly is a priority for most families. Curbing spending and expenses, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured achievement and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning regarding economizing money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal finances is extremely limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel charge!. The group consisted of 12-year-old students and two adults, WI Executive Director Greg Lais and Bill Simpson. The trip was a success and Greg learned that with the right attitude and knowledge, anyone can enjoy the wilderness.

Greg took his next trip with his college friend Paul Schurke, and four others. Of those four others, two were deaf and two rode in wheelchairs. That trip proved to be the turning point at which Greg and Paul became non-profit partners. Since that time Wilderness Inquiry has served over a quarter million people on adventures throughout the world.

Wilderness Inquiry has won multiple awards and is partnered with many conservation and environmental organizations. Among those are REI, Minnesota Environmental Fund, Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, and North American Association for Environmental Education. Their trips are affordable and are sure to benefit the community visited and the environmental conservation. Their mission, to provide outdoor adventure experiences that inspire personal growth, community integration, and enhanced awareness of the environment. Wilderness Inquiry adventures encourage people to open themselves to new possibilities and opportunities. They offer a variety of trip for groups, families, and individuals; that range in activity level according to abilities.
