A free live performance presented by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. A part of First Friday Downtown Gallery Walk. Scheduled Aug. 7, from 5-9 p.m., with performances beginning at 6 p.m. This month features Aerial Romance, with an aerial dance performance by Samadhi, with accompaniment by Kaumakaiwa Kanakaole, and other arts of the air including exhibitions of tumbling and fire dance. Admission is free.

August Moon Wine Tasting
The Contemporary Museum
August 8, 6 9 pm
A hefty 27 wineries from the best wine growing regions in America, Portugal, and Australia will be serving up their best vintages at The Contemporary Museum's August Moon Wine Tasting, a fundraiser for children's education programs, on August 8 from 6 until 9 p.m. A special feature of this wine tasting is that the wineries feature organic and biodynamic wines all grown using sustainable farming practices.

Each ticket purchase includes a free TCM one-year Individual membership, of which $45 may be applied to a renewal or an upgrade to an existing membership, if you are already a TCM member, or given as a gift membership to an individual of your choosing.
Valet parking is free to all who buy tickets at the sponsor level, and to any 4 ticketholders that carpool together in one car. Free parking for all others will be provided at Roosevelt High School with a complimentary shuttle service up to the Museum.

69th Annual Na Hula Festival

A total of nine (9) hula halau will be performing throughout the weekend at the annual Na Hula Festival. The Alama Sisters and their respective Hula Studios will continue to participate as they have done since the inception of the Na Hula Festival.
Also enjoy performances from the Royal Hawaiian Band, Halau Hula O Pua Aala Hone, Na Wahine O Ka Hula Mai Ka Puuwai, Halau Hula O Hokulani, Ka Hale I O Kahala, Halau Hula O Nawahine, Na Kupuna O Makua Alii and Halau Pomaikaikalani.

BayFest 2009
Marine Corps Base Hawaii

20th Annual BayFest 2009 is Windward Oahu's largest music festival. Located on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the public is welcome to enjoy music from various national (Black Eyed Peas on August 15) and local acts, carnival rides, fireworks and games, great food, exhibits, and much more.
General grounds admission is $5; children five years and under are free. Gates open at 5 p.m. on August 14 and noon on August 15-16. BayFest is open to the general public and organized by Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), a Department of Defense quality of life program that supports the morale, welfare and recreation of Hawaiis Marines, Sailors, and their families.
