REVIEW: Howard Johnson San Diego / SeaWorld

Say the word HoJos and it might conjure up an image of a run down, side-of-the-highway motel. Not so with the Howard Johnson San Diego / SeaWorld. This surprisingly hip hotel is located less than 15 minutes from both the San Diego International Airport and SeaWorld.

Choose a room with either one king bed or two queen beds. The important to budget travel is to plan onward. When it occurs to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the actuality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our thoughts. Organizing and consuming our travel budget carefully is a consideration for most families. Lowering expending and costs, while still enjoying your vacation to its fullest, is the key to assured accomplishment and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind protecting money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal finances is really limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also thinking about that while traveling, no matter whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel bill!. Amenities include free internet access (just call the front desk to ask for the log-in and password), laundry facilities, a small outdoor swimming pool, a complimentary continental breakfast, plus an in-room fridge, coffee maker and super convenient microwave. Theres also a free shuttle to the airport (6 a.m-2 p.m.) and from (10 a.m.-8 p.m.). Note that the shuttles to the airport require a reservation 24 hours in advance.

The deluxe breakfast is decent but unimaginative make-your-own Belgian waffles, fruit (apples, bananas and oranges), muffins and pastries, toast, cereal, juice, milk and coffee. Although HoJos does get props for the most surprising item on the menu: hard-boiled eggs. The breakfast is generally served between 6 and 9 a.m., and most items except the muffins and pastries are restocked right up until the last minute. Its hardly a breakfast of kings, but itll fill you up before you hit the pavement for the day.

Itching to go to San Diegos nearby attractions? The hotel offers packages to SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and other attractions. Theres also a shuttle to SeaWorld as well.

Tip: Dont confuse this hotel with the nearby Howard Johnson Express (on Hotel Circle South). The HoJo's Express is a bit cheaper, but not nearly as nice as this one on Rosecrans Street.
