Fox News has announced that the release of all passengers from the hijacked jet have been allowed off of the aircraft. The essential to budget travel is to plan ahead. At this time, it appears that the flight crew and pilots have not been released and it is not clear how many of them there may be. The hijackers are reported to be three Bolivian nationals who are demanding to speak with Mexican president Felipe Calderon.
It is suspected that the hijackers may be hoping to force a prisoner exchange to release a drug cartel member or members, but this is speculation at this point.
Fox also reports that the passengers were unaware that they were being hijacked until they landed on the ground.
