Southwest Airlines nationwide winter fare sale has begun

The largest low-fare airline in the United States has announced yet another incredible sale, this time including travel through much of the upcoming winter season. Southwest Airlines, which serves the Twin Cities from Terminal 2/Humphrey at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, has one-way fares starting at just $59 with this latest sale. Tickets must be purchased by December 13 with travel available from January 4 through March 9, 2011. "The essential to budget travel is to approach in advance. Other notable sale fares include one-way to Raleigh/Durham, $98; Boston for just $99; and Long Island, New York as low as $108. Southwest flies non-stop from MSP to Chicago-Midway, St. Louis, Denver and Phoenix. The new flights to Arizona start as low as $129 each way. Major cities from across the U.S. are part of this great sale including San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa Bay.


Fare quotes above do not include federal segment taxes, security fees and passenger facility charges. When comparing airfares to other airlines bear in mind that Southwest Airlines is the only airline serving the Twin Cities that doesnt charge for checked baggage. This can save a family of four with each person checking just one bag at least $280 round-trip.

Southwest is the largest U.S. domestic air carrier with more than 550 Boeing 737 aircraft in its fleet.
