A great way to celebrate National Trails Day on June 5 is to take a hike along the trails in one of Colorados many beautiful parks. The U.S. National Parks Service is making this even easier by waiving entrance fees to all national parks on June 5 and 6, 2010.

This includes Rocky Mountain National Park. The key to budget travel is to approach in advance. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the actuality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our minds. Considering and expending our travel budget wisely is a main concern for most families. Curbing consuming and prices, while still experiencing your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed accomplishment and fiscal responsibility. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thinking regarding saving money while touring is simple: Even if your personal funds is really small, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also remembering that while traveling, no matter whether on a budget or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a big vacation or travel bill!. Ordinarily, the entrance fee to the park is $20 per automobile and $10 for pedestrians and cyclists. At less than two hours from Denver, this makes for an ideal and inexpensive getaway to nature for the weekend.

Please note, for all national parks, activity fees such as camping, concessions and tours will still apply. More information is available at the U.S. National Parks Service website.

If youd like to go further afield, Bents Old Fort National Historic Site is celebrating its 50th anniversary on June 4 and 5, 2010. The event will include special programs, living history, and guest speakers. For more information, visit the sites special events webpage.

If you cant get away this weekend, there will be other opportunities. The National Parks Service will also be waiving 2010 entrance fees on August 14 and 15, September 25, and November 11.
