The Geminid meteor shower is in town and will be in full luminous display. You will have plenty of opportunities, up to 50 an hour to be exact, to find your lucky star. So bundle up your wishes for the New Year, pop in Madonnas self-titled album, and pack up your blankets and beanies. Its time for an epic nocturnal road trip.
The yearly Geminid meteor shower is a beloved astonishing event! These meteors will streak up the sky with endless shooting beams of flaming light. Unlike most other late morning meteor showers, the Geminids come out to play as early as midnight. This famous spectacle is known to be one of the most prolific and convenient shows for star gazing audiences!

So where can you go as a Los Angeles native for a front row view? Luckily, on such short notice, you dont have to travel too far. This compilation of spots will showcase fun and relatively local road trip destinations:
1. Topanga Canyon:
Lights are far and few in this curvy canyon. What lights do exist are trapped in the deep ravines and shading trees.
