The Louvre is one of the world's major museums, being in Paris you won't miss it, even if you have an absolute zero interest in painting and sculpture. Your point is just to make the visit at least enjoyable, for you and your kids.
Before you go
Make sure your children know who Mona Lisa is, because going to the Louvre means seeng this prominent person, a lady or not. They might not find her exciting at all, she is not young enough, no pink dress or diamond diadem. Discussing her mysterious smile won't probably take longer than a couple of minutes. Typical tourists use the pyramid to enter the Louvre. Do not loose your time, get your ticket online and opt for the other less crowded entrances.

Try to figure out while you are there. How about St.Anne, is she related to Mona Lisa? How many St.Johns can you find? They all stand by water, wear pelts and have a gigantic wooden cross in their hands. The essential to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new places we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our thoughts. Planning and expending our travel budget properly is a main concern for most families.
