Backyard roller coaster is an Indiana oddity

The Blue Flash isn't your ordinary theme park roller coaster. That's mostly because it isn't in a theme park.

Instead of spending tens of millions to wow paying visitors, John Ivers spent a few thousand dollars and a lot oftrial and error (since his engineering knowledge is limited to auto mechanics)building a 180-footlooping steel roller coaster in his back yard.

You can see the coaster from the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 41in Bruceville, Indiana (just north of Vincennes)but if you want a rideon the Blue Flashyou'll have to knock on the front door and ask very nicely.
