Recently the popularity of 3D movies has been on the rise and joining the bandwagon (coincidentally) is the Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo, Hawaii.

Three new planetarium shows start on Saturday, March 27 for everyones enjoyment and two are in 3D!

3D Sun - This new show gives audiences the chance to see the sun up close in dazzling, high-definition 3D. Stand above the Arctic Circle and witness the most brilliant auroras on Earth. Take a ride on a solar blast from Sun's surface to Earths Magnetosphere. Witness the most powerful explosions in the solar system, equal to the force of a billion megaton nuclear bombs.

Awesome Light 2: Seeing the Invisible - In this 3D show the audience is taken to the observatories on Mauna Kea where they will see the remnants of a comet collision with Jupiter, fly into the heart of the Milky Way Galaxy to see gas flows, study star formation in the famous Whirlpool Galaxy and explore at the largest black hole and jet in the Universe.

Tycho to the Moon - On Saturdays, keiki (children) can come and meet Tycho, a dog who doesnt just
howl at the moon, but wants to go there. The important to budget travel is to approach ahead. When it comes along to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved holidays and/or going to see new locations we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is always in the back of our heads. Arranging and consuming our travel budget carefully is a main concern for most families. Minimizing expending and prices, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to guaranteed achievement and fiscal obligation. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought behind protecting money while traveling is simple: Even if your personal finances is really limited, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or leaving the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, regardless of whether on a price range or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a large vacation or travel bill!. The audience will blast off on an amazing ride into space with Tycho and his young friends Ruby and Michael. Kids will learn about night and day, space travel, the phases of the Moon and features of the lunar surface. They will also take a close-up look at the Sun, watch the effects of gravity, see the Earth from space and watch meteors shoot across the night sky.

Imiloa Astronomy Center also offers its signature show, Mauna Kea: Between Earth and Sky, daily

Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays).
