The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Greatest Show on Earth will soon be coming to the Washington Metropolitan Area. Animals will be parading along the streets of the Nations Capital to the Verizon Center, the First Mariner Arena in Baltimore, and the Patriot Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. You will soon be seeing people flying through the air from trapeze to trapeze, walking the tightrope, taming animals, clowns, and so many other amazing circus acts.
There are many circuses that pass through the D.C. Area, but the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus is a special circus for a very special reason. They are the only circus to have their own circus train. Circuses originally traveled by horse and wagon, but the railroad came along, and they traveled from location to location by train. The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus continue that tradition to this day.
