Here we go, Las Vegas part two. It's like no other city in the world. It's turned on 24/7 and offers everything and anything that the vacation, or business traveler wants or needs. This week we'll take a look at nightlife, shows & entertainment, and some other leisure activities.
Anyone who has taken in the Vegas nightlife can tell you that New York, London, and L.A. have nothing over Las Vegas. In fact, many of the hippest clubs in those cities have an outpost in Vegas. Pick a club and you're sure to have one great evening. There's Tao at the Venetian, Tryst, XS, Blush. and one of the newest joints in town, Surrender are all at The Wynn Resorts, Pure at Caesar's, Vanity at the Hard Rock, and Haze at Aria. That is just the beginning because you can't even start to talk nightlife without mentioning Moon, Lavo, Mix, Rain, The Voodoo Lounge, Jet, Tabu, Drai's After Hours, and the world's only Playboy Club at The Palms. And I've barely touched on all the clubs available for your partying pleasure. Make your choice and get ready for one of the greatest nights of your life, nightclub, ultra lounge, intimate lounge, it's all here.
What can one really say about all of the great entertainment available. The array of entertainment is so vast that I'd have to write a book to begin to do any justice here. To start with there are now 7 Cirque de Soleil shows in town, Elvis and The beatles are at Aria and The Mirage respectively, Ka at MGM Grand, Zumanity at New York New York, O at The Bellagio, Criss Angel: Believe at Luxor, and the original Cirque show in Vegas is still going strong, Mystere at Treasure Island. In fact the only real knock you can make about Vegas is right here, does any one city really need 7 Cirque shows? There's also Le Reve at Wynn and Matsuri at the Imperial Palace. The Hard Rock has Carlos Santana as it's resident artist, and shouldn't be missed and Mandalay Bay is the resident boxing match promoter. Elsewhere about town there's great shows every day and every night that include Cher at Caesar's, Jersey Boys at The Palazzo, The Lion King at Mandalay Bay, Barry Manilow at Paris, Penn & Teller at the Rio (who doesn't love a show with the tag line "fewer audience injuries than last year"), Rita Rudner at Harrah's, Donny and marie at the Flamingo, and of course, next year Celine Dion returns to Caesar's Palace in March, 2011, among many, many more. Daytime is loaded with a huge variety of shows all over town. Daytime staples include magic acts, comedy, off, off broadway type shows, just about anything you're looking for.
The Las Vegas Valley also offers some of the finest golf available anywhere, and many of the resorts are offering terrific custom golf packages for the avid golfer. Whether you stay at an MGM Resorts property or a Harrah's property you'll have a great choice from the multiple courses those companies own. There's also a number of terrific local golf courses not owned by either of these companies that provide a challenging test of your golfing skills. I have to mention one of the best courses not only in Vegas, or the Vegas Valley, but in the world. The Wynn Golf Course at Wynn Resort. This is the former Desert Inn Golf Course which has been redeveloped and brought up to a terrific challenging standard that is sure to please any golfer, whether low or high handicapper.
That's it for now. Next time I'l start to go into depth about the city's terrific nightlife, shows, and some other great amenity offerings available for you.
Until next time, travel safely.
