Cornfield mazes, an authentic Fall tradition

Every year Forneris Farms carves a four acre maze out of its cornfield. Guests are welcomed in to cornstalks that rise above their heads with the challenge of navigating through splitting paths and dead ends. The farm has been open for 45 years providing fresh produce to the Mission Hills residents and their neighboring counties.

An attempt at the maze costs $7 per ticket, children 3 and under are free. Group discounts are also available. The cornfield will be open from October 9th to November 7th. Saturdays and Sundays are the more popular days thanks to live music and fresh roasted corn-on-the-cob. Hours of corniness are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The maze is closed on Wednesdays for watering and it will also shut down due to rainy weather.

Ten riddles are hidden within the maze creating a Cornundrum scavenger hunt. Mark the answers to the riddles on a scorecard and turn it in to win prizes in the raffle. The Forneris Farms are focused on wholesome family fun, so the maze is not haunted. Be sure to not forget the papoose since strollers are not allowed.

After romping in the cornfield maze, families are invited to ride around the farm on a tractor-pulled train ride for an additional $4 each. If spending more money is not an option, children can climb up a pyramid built of hay or jump awhile in the moonbounce.

Adults, enjoy wandering through the Forneris Farms fresh produce market. Right now is the season for tomatoes and corn. The farmland is a fun fall tradition that families can look forward to every year. Its more than just a maize, its the perfect pumpkin patch.
