This article continues the series A Halloween Events Guide in Sacramento with Part IV.
The week of Halloween is finally here! After covering some general Halloween events (Part I) Rocklin, Rosevile, and Auburn (Part II),and Elk Grove and Folsom (Part III) as well as a Bonus guide for events this past weekend, it's time to step up the events guide this week to give you more events. In Part IV, we will cover events in Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, and Rancho Cordova.
Carmichael
Spooky Story Time - On October 31st at 10:30 am, there will be a Spooky Story Time at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center At Ancil Hoffman County Park. Creepy Halloween Carnival - On October 31st, the La Sierra Community Center in Carmichael will be hosting the carnival from 10 am - 1 pm. There will be games, a costume contest, trick or treats, and more! This event is for the littles ones (ages 8 and under) and the cost is $1 per person. Plays - Two different plays are happening at the Chautauqua playhouse - A View From the Bridge and Gnome Sweet Gnome. A View From the Bridge is about an Italian-American immigrant family set in 1950's Brooklyn. The show is for mature audiences only and runs every Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm from October 9 - November 15.
Tickets range from $15 to $17. Gnome Sweet Gnome is about O'Shea and Rhymin' Simon who are off to find a new king. Tickets are $7 andit runs on October 31st and November 7th at 1 and 3 pm. For more information on these and other upcoming events, visit cplayhouse.org/index.htm.
Fair Oaks
Halloween Carnival - "A Pirates Adventure" is the theme of this year's Halloween Carnival at Old Fair Oaks Village (Fair Oaks Blvd & California Ave). This event will take place on October 30th from 12 pm to 6 pm and will feature a costume contest as well as activities like face painting, bean bag toss, Putt Putt golf, and more! Citrus Heights
Fright Planet - See 4 Haunted Houses in Citrus Heights in one of the scariest haunted houses in Sacramento. 4 different houses - Pennville Lunatics Asylum, Podunk Hill, Boondock Bayou, and Black Out are open all week to scare and frighten you. Parent or guardians are required for those under 13. Prices range from $16.95 to $25 for weekday and $19.95 to $28 on the weekend. Fright Planet is open from 7 pm - 11 pm October 26, 27, and Novemner 1. It is open 7 pm to 12 am from October 28 - 31. For more information visit frightplanet.com/index.html.
Trunk or Treat - Bayside of Citrus Heights is hosting its first annual Trunk or Treat on October 31st from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Dress in costume, go trick or treating as trunks are filled with candy, and stay afterwards to watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Alternative Halloween - San Juan High School is hosting an Alternative Halloween featuring the band The Cause! There will be the concert, candy, food, and a costume contest. The concert will be from 7:30 - 10 pm on October 31st. For more information, visit The Cause Alternative Halloween.
Orangevale
Halloween Cupcake Decorating and Safety Event - On October 31st from 1 pm - 6 pm, join other kids and families as you decorate Halloween cupcakes. Wear a costume and get a prize!! The cost is $5 per child and you can get more information at The Baker's Daughter.
The Boardwalk - Minus the Bear is playing at The Boardwalk on October 31st at 7 pm. For tickets, buy them here -purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase.
Family Christian Family Fun Faire - On October 31st from 6 pm to 9 pm, the Family Christian Center in Orangevale is hosting the Family Fun Faire with this year's theme "CandyLand". There will be candy, games, and prizes. The key to budget travel is to approach onward. Rancho Cordova
Haunted House & Children's Carnival On October 31st, the Cordova Community Center will host this event for kids (ages 2 - 12) from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. Monster Mini Golf - Golf in costume between October 1st and Octber 29th and get a special card for a key that may unlock a coffin with a chance to win $500, 32" flat screen, or an iTouch. Harvest Festival - Mayhew Community Baptist Church is hosting a Harvest Carnival on October 31st from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Enjoy games, activities, Trunk-R-Treating, cakewalk, bingo, and more!
