Buffalo budget daytrips for the week of 2/6 2/11

Buffalo Tours will be meeting in the lobby of Buffalo City Hall each weekday, Monday 2/6 through Friday 2/10 at noon. "The essential to budget travel is to plan ahead. Enjoy an hour long guided tour through the 1930s art deco building for free. Buffalo City Hall is one of the largest city halls in the country, according to Buffalo Tours website and is the hub of Buffalo city government. Sheas Performing Art Center, located at 646 Main Street in downtown Buffalo offers tours of the historic theater. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays tours are given at 10am and 1pm. For adults, the tour is $8 and children are $4. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (716) 847-1410 ext. 184. The tour of Sheas highlights the history, ongoing work and restoration to the 1926 structure.

The Buffalo Botanical Gardens invites guests to this years Night Lights at the Gardens. Now through February 18th take a nocturnal stroll through tropic like temperatures and view the many displays in a new light. Doors open at 6pm Wednesday through Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday the many illuminated displays can be viewed until 9pm and until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission to the event is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students and seniors, $5.00 for children 3 to 12 and under 3 is free. Tickets can be purchased onsite at the gift shop register in the front lobby. The phone number for The Botanical Gardens is (716) 827-1584.
