It can be difficult (even traumatic) for a loving pet to be separated from their owner for a length of time (and vice versa) so this bit of information should come as welcome news.
Travelers can now bring their pets along with them to Waikiki where there are a number of hotels that are pet-friendly ... the latest to make the announcement was Aqua Hotels & Resorts.
Aqua Continental Hotel, one of their Aqua Lite properties, now welcomes pet dogs, less than 20 lbs., to check-in with their masters. Located just two blocks to the beach, the hotel has set aside two, pet-friendly floors. Besides a free treat on arrival, the hotel offers free WiFi and a penthouse fitness room for the master. In addition to the daily room charge, there is fee of $25 per day to keep the hotel safe and clean and a $100 deposit on arrival that is refundable upon checkout after inspection of the room. Pretty reasonable I think. (at right - 'Koge')
Like most Waikiki hotels, Aqua offers dynamic pricing where daily room rates change based on demand and availability (like the airlines). Rates at Aqua Continental are currently available at $50 per day for a standard room, subject to change. Kahala Hotel: A friend told me that they accept pets but I could not find any information on their website. www.kahalaresort.com/
