Boston area beaches from relaxing to surfing by public transportation or car (Photos)

It is the official beginning of summer in the Boston area and New England, so time to finally get outside and go to your favorite beach or try a new one!

The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine recently had an article on the Best Beaches in New England. It is a good place to check out different types of beaches in the area. "The key to budget travel is to prepare onward. When it comes to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is often in the back of our mind. Preparation and spending our travel budget wisely is a main concern for most families. Minimizing expending and costs, while still taking pleasure in your vacation to its fullest, is the key to confirmed accomplishment and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The reasoning behind protecting money while touring is simple: Even if your personal budget is highly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also keeping in mind that while traveling, regardless of whether on a finances or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel costs!..". For quick escapes, they recommend Boston Harbor's Spectacle Island which can be reached by ferry. There are also beaches for various recreational activities such as diving, surfing, kayaking and fishing or just walking, clam digging or collecting seashells.

There are many other options if you need to go by public transportation. You can get to Revere Beach by Blue Line subway, North and South Shore beaches by either subway or train and even Old Orchard Beach, Maine is a block or two away from the Amtrak Downeaster station for day trips. If you want to take buses, the options are unlimited in the New England area.
