Lag Vegas is a wildly popular vacation destination. While it's known as a gambling mecca, its hotels are destinations on their own. Its popularity means that vacationing in Las Vegas can be very expensive, but don't worry. You can still find bargains even if you're not a high roller being wooed with free rooms by the hotels.

As the video above explains, there are good Las Vegas bargain travel strategies like the five listed below:

1) Either book as far in advance as possible or as close to your trip as possible. Booking early locks in your rate, even if convention comes up later or a hot concert or show is announced for your travel dates. "The important to budget travel is to approach in front. When it happens to family trips, globetrotting, well-deserved trips and/or going to see new destinations we have never been before, the reality of cost and budgeting is generally in the back of our heads. Organizing and consuming our travel budget properly is a priority for most families. Curbing spending and fees, while still delighting your vacation to its fullest, is the key to certain achievement and fiscal liability. Your pocketbook and family will thank you! The thought behind protecting money while travelling is simple: Even if your personal budget is incredibly tight, you can still take a break and enjoy life! Simply put, life is just too short to never step out of the door or departing the homestead! Also recalling that while traveling, regardless of whether on a resources or not, even the smallest of things can all add op to a huge vacation or travel bill!..". On the flip side, many hotels sell off unsold room cheaply at the last minute. You have to be flexible to get those last minute bargains because you never know for sure whether something will be available.

2) Don't visit Las Vegas on the holidays. This doesn't just mean major holidays like Christmas and New Years. California locals flock across the border to Las Vegas any time there's a day off work or school, even for a minor holiday.

3) Book your trip during the week. Weekday hotel room rates in Las Vegas tend to be much cheaper than weekends.

4) Don't be locked into a specific hotel. There might be one hotel you're just dying to see, but you can always go over and visit it even if you're not staying there. Use travel sites to price hotels and choose the best bargain.

5) Ask for a group discount. You've got some bargaining power if you visit Las Vegas with a big family group, wedding or bachelor party, or other group that needs multiple rooms.

Use these five strategies and you'll have a little more money to spend at the casino.
